Location: Cleveland, OH
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Benefits Administrator. The Benefits Administrator will provide day-to-day support for the Company’s active health & welfare and OPEB programs. This role delivers responsive employee service, accurate plan administration, and reliable operational support across benefits processes and systems.
Summary of Responsibilities
Plan Administration
Process enrollments, qualifying life events, and ongoing plan maintenance accurately and on time
Intake and validate documentation (e.g., dependent verification, beneficiary designations, and life insurance forms)
Complete enrollment confirmations, verification and requests.
Employee Support & Communication
Serve as a first-line resource for employees and retirees; interpret plan provisions and communicate options clearly
Educate employees on benefits during annual enrollment and throughout the year; contribute to materials and FAQs
Data & Systems
Perform routine checks in HRIS and vendor platforms to ensure data accuracy; escalate discrepancies with clear documentation
Support data file reviews between Workday/Dayforce and vendors; help troubleshoot basic integration issues
Assist with scheduled/ad hoc reporting and simple analyses
Compliance & Reporting
Follow policies aligned to ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other regulations.
Support annual enrollment, compliance calendars, and vendor deliverables.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Build strong working relationships with HR, Payroll, and vendor partners.
Contribute ideas to streamline processes and improve employee experience
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Customer focus, attention to detail, strong communication, confidentiality, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft 365; comfort with HRIS and vendor systems
Preferred Qualifications
BA/BS in Business Administration (or equivalent experience)
2+ years in employee benefits administration
Experience in Workday/Dayforce
The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
