Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Project Engineerat our Tilden site. This role is responsible for capital projects within a large manufacturing facility. The projects can encompass all engineering disciplines within their scope.
Summary of Responsibilities
Manage large-scale capital improvement projects, typically $0.5 -10 million magnitude. Project focus can be related to process changes/improvement, infrastructure replacement, environmental compliance, cost reduction, etc.
Develops and prepares capital appropriations for submittal. This involves establishing project scope, cost savings, developing detailed scopes of work, and detailed cost estimates.
Executes projects from inception through implementation, commissioning, and start up. Supervise contractors, 3rd party engineers, vendors, and internal resources during project execution.
Maintains project budgeting, scheduling, costs, and effectively communicates to management on a regular basis. Ensures that the projects come in on budget and are completed on time while delivering project objectives.
Identifies what project resources are needed (engineering, field services, inspections, materials, material expediting, etc.) to accomplish the intent of the project and arrange to have them available when needed.
Works with plant organizations to identify and resolve operational and maintenance issues.
Execute small scale projects, inspections, analytics and diagnostics which help improve the efficiency, reliability and safety of the facility. Develop recommendations to achieve these desired improvements, works with maintenance and operating personnel to develop and implement solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
Working knowledge of MS Office products(Excel) and Autodesk
Ability to work both independently and within team environment
Strong analytical skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years reliability or maintenance engineering experience within mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry
Working knowledge of industrial CMMS
