Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America’s premier processors, buyers, sellers and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Account Manager. The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with the organization’s international clients.
Summary Responsibilities:
- Retain and renew large corporate business accounts, tier 1 suppliers, and OEM.
- Develops and implement strategies to maintain and expand sales within an assigned territory.
- Prepare a plan for each account to identify what and how short and long-term needs may be met.
- Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
- Forecasts the demand for product(s) within assigned territory.
- Provides reports on the budget and sales activity for a given period.
- Interfaces with the customer to understand the customer’s overall objectives and requirements.
- Contact customers regularly to maintain account relationships, advise of new product and service offerings, and obtain product feedback.
- Share details with customers on additional offerings to provide value-added service.
- Ensure that related departments provide post-sales support to assigned accounts/customers.
- Serves as a point of escalation for issues or activities that the customer encounters during service utilization.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems/complaints.
- Prepares and conducts technical/product presentations and demonstrations.
- Participates in trade shows by representing the organization and sharing product information.
- Provides feedback to management for future enhancements.
- Shares ideas and customer needs throughout all cycle phases (plan, design, integrate, manage).
- Contributes to the monthly MRO by providing account trends and sharing future client needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, one to two years related experience and training, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent customer oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated track record of solid teamwork.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Collaborative; builds and works with teams.
- Ability to coach and mentor.
- Candidates must be willing to travel as needed to drive business results.
- Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
