Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Tooling Engineer in our Windsor, Ontario New Model Team. The Senior Tooling Engineer is responsible for supporting the new model team to achieve success in all programs. The ideal candidate will have strong teamwork skills, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Tooling Engineer (New Model) will help coordinate and follow-up on New Product Launches
- Sourcing and tracking Equipment, Tooling and Weld fixtures
- Using Microsoft project
- Participating in design reviews
- Order all materials to support early builds / parts for the customers
- Buy off on all tools at suppliers, internals shops before they ship
- Participate in new model APQP team meetings to support delivery of tools and parts
- Ensure all engineering changes to tools are tracked, implemented and approved
- Work with purchasing to quote and source tooling packages
- Directly responsible for the management of the Manufacturing engineer actions, responsibilities and assignments as noted above.
- Mentor and train manufacturing engineers to ensure their job duties are performed accurately and correctly.
- Support the new model team to achieve success in all programs
- Support the Manager New product development to achieve overall department duties and responsibilities
Minimum Requirements:
- Program management experience
- Stamping / Weld background
Preferred Requirements
- Tool and Die certification preferred
- Post-secondary education in Engineering recommended
